Tehnologia semiautomată pentru ofsaid va fi introdusă în meciurile din Cupa Angliei

Tehnologia semiautomată pentru ofsaid va fi utilizată pentru prima dată în fotbalul englez în cadrul a șapte meciuri din turul al cincilea al Cupei Angliei, programate pentru luna viitoare pe stadioanele din Premier League. Potrivit unei știri de la Reuters, dintre cele opt meciuri din această rundă, singurul care nu implică o echipă din Premier League este confruntarea dintre Preston North End și Burnley.

Implementarea acestei tehnologii era planificată inițial înainte de Crăciun, dar a întâmpinat dificultăți în timpul testelor, ceea ce a întârziat utilizarea ei. În plus, sistemul VAR va fi disponibil în toate cele opt meciuri din turul al cincilea al FA Cup, deși nu a fost folosit în rundele anterioare ale competiției.
