Studiu prezentat la ASCO 2025 sugerează risc crescut de adenoame la alergătorii de elită

Un studiu prezentat la reuniunea ASCO 2025 arată că 15% dintre alergătorii de maraton și ultramaraton, cu vârste între 35 și 50 de ani, aveau adenoame avansate, leziuni precanceroase ce pot evolua în cancer colorectal.

Cercetătorii avertizează că antrenamentele extreme pot provoca stres intestinal și inflamație, crescând riscul de cancer colorectal la un grup restrâns de sportivi, în timp ce exercițiile moderate scad riscul general de cancer.

Potrivit ziaruldeiasi.ro, această constatare este rezultatul unui studiu restrâns, iar autorii subliniază necesitatea extinderii cercetării pentru a înțelege impactul la nivel individual.

Rezultatele nu schimbă recomandările generale, dar indică posibilitatea screeningului mai devreme și atenția la simptome precum sângerările, în special pentru sportivi de elită.
