ACC suspendă proiectele de fabrici de baterii în Italia și Germania

Automotive Cells Company (ACC), un joint venture format din Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz și TotalEnergies, a anunțat sâmbătă că nu pot fi continuate planurile de construire a două gigafabrici în Italia și Germania. Decizia survine pe fondul cererii scăzute pentru vehicule electrice, conform datelor Agerpres.

ACC își propusese inițial să dezvolte trei mari fabrici europene, în Franța, Germania și Italia, dar, deși producția a demarat în Franța, proiectele din cele două țări au fost suspendate. „Este clar că nu sunt îndeplinite condițiile prealabile pentru repornirea proiectelor ACC în Germania și Italia”, a transmis ACC într-un comunicat.

Compania a deschis un dialog cu sindicatele și reprezentanții consiliului de întreprindere pentru a discuta termenii unei posibile opriri a proiectelor din Kaiserslautern și Termoli.

Sindicatul italian UILM a anunțat că proiectele din Termoli și Kaiserslautern, suspendate încă din luna mai 2024, au fost „definitiv abandonate”. UILM a subliniat că „eșecul construirii gigafabricii ACC trebuie compensat prin decizii industriale clare și coerente”.

În context, Stellantis, cel mai mare investitor de la ACC, a declarat că urmărește îndeaproape situația și rămâne „complet mobilizat” pentru evaluarea implicațiilor industriale și sociale. Compania se confruntă cu dificultăți financiare, anunțând cheltuieli excepționale de 22 de miliarde de euro din cauza estimărilor greșite privind vânzările de vehicule electrice. Acțiunile Stellantis au înregistrat o scădere dramatică de 25,2% vineri, cea mai mare cădere într-o singură zi.
